SIGHTSEEING TOUR – free tour
Wednesday, October 7th, 10:00-13.00 (in front of the Main Entrance of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering)

A guided walk through the Niš Fortress and the city centre, followed by a visit to the Archaeological Hall of the National Museum in Niš, featuring archaeological artefacts from the rich history of the region.

Located in the heart of the city, the Niš Fortress is one of the best-preserved fortifications in the Balkans. Its present appearance dates mainly from the Ottoman period, while the site itself reflects the long and complex history of Niš, with archaeological remains from earlier periods. Today, the Fortress is one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks and a popular venue for cultural events.

The Archaeological Hall presents selected artefacts from the rich archaeological heritage of Niš and its surroundings, spanning prehistoric times, the Roman period, Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages. Among the highlights are finds from Mediana, the Roman imperial residence associated with Emperor Constantine the Great, who was born in Naissus, ancient Niš.
